DualSense Tester and Specs

The DualSense is the standard PS5 controller. This page is the spec sheet and quirk list. The live instrument with PlayStation labels is the PS5 controller tester, and it uses the same Gamepad readings.

Labels are locked to this page’s layout. Change “Button labels” if they do not match the pad in your hands.

Inputs stay in this browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Press any button on the controller. Browsers hide gamepads until you press a button on this tab.

This is how often the browser hands us a new sample. It is not the controller’s USB poll rate. How old the newest sample is when the page draws it. This is not display lag and not in-game lag.

Vibration

Motion

Gyro, accelerometer, touch position, and battery are not part of the standard Gamepad reading. Chrome and Edge on desktop can request a DualSense or DualShock 4 over WebHID.

Works with

  • PlayStation 5: native.
  • PC and Mac: USB and Bluetooth in current browsers.
  • Android: Chrome, with the usual button-press wake-up.
  • iOS: limited browser support. Fine in many games, poor as a tester.
  • Xbox and Switch: not a native pad.

Browser support for this controller

Chrome and Edge show buttons, sticks, analog triggers, and usually dual rumble. Firefox shows inputs and often skips rumble. Safari is partial. Gyro confirmation is the gyro test over WebHID, desktop Chromium only.

Known quirks

  • Bluetooth name includes “Wireless Controller,” which is also how a DualShock 4 names itself. The word DualSense, or PID 0CE6, is the split.
  • Steam Input may present the pad as an Xbox device. Test with that layer off.
  • The mute button and touch coordinates are not reliable Gamepad fields.
  • Haptics in PS5 games are richer than dual rumble in the browser. Both can be working.

Drift, repair, and warranty notes

Healthy resting radius in this tester: under about 0.06. Over 0.12 is drift you will feel. The module is not a pop-out part. Warranty repair is the maker’s current regional policy, which changes, so check Sony for your country rather than trusting a forum date. Avoid blowing into the stick. The procedure is the stick drift test and How do you fix stick drift?.
