Joy-Con Tester and Specs

Joy-Con are two controllers. Left is commonly 057E:2006 and right 057E:2007. A grip, a rail, or a PC Bluetooth stack may present one device or two. Drift on these sticks is a documented wear issue. Read both slots if the browser shows a pair, and run the stick drift test.

Labels are locked to this page’s layout. Change “Button labels” if they do not match the pad in your hands.

Press any button on the controller. Browsers hide gamepads until you press a button on this tab.

This is how often the browser hands us a new sample. It is not the controller’s USB poll rate. How old the newest sample is when the page draws it. This is not display lag and not in-game lag.

Vibration

Motion

Gyro, accelerometer, touch position, and battery are not part of the standard Gamepad reading. Chrome and Edge on desktop can request a DualSense or DualShock 4 over WebHID.

Works with

Native on Switch hardware. On PC they are awkward: sideways mode, combined mode, and “two devices” mode disagree. This tester shows whatever the browser enumerated. It does not recombine a split pair into one Xbox-style pad.

Known quirks

  • There is no analog trigger pair. Do not fail the checkup for missing L2/R2 travel.
  • SL and SR only matter in sideways play. They may show up as extra buttons.
  • A charging grip and a wireless connection do not produce the same device list.

Drift, repair, and warranty notes

This is the stick the industry had to talk about. Dust and potentiometer wear move the resting point. Under 0.06 is still the healthy band in this tester; over 0.12 is drift. Nintendo’s repair programs have varied by region and have changed. Look up the current policy where you live rather than a screenshot of an old page. Replacing the stick module is a standard shop repair. Blowing into the rail is a good way to add moisture.

Frequently asked questions

Why does one Joy-Con look like a whole controller?

Sideways mode maps that half onto a full face. The other half is a second device. Use both slots.

Can this page recalibrate Joy-Con sticks?

No. Console calibration menus and Nintendo’s own tools own that write. This page only measures.
