Xbox Series Tester and Specs

The Xbox Series wireless controller is the current standard Xbox pad. Test it live on the Xbox controller tester. This page holds the ids and the drift notes so the tool page can stay a procedure.

Labels are locked to this page’s layout. Change “Button labels” if they do not match the pad in your hands.

Inputs stay in this browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Press any button on the controller. Browsers hide gamepads until you press a button on this tab.

This is how often the browser hands us a new sample. It is not the controller’s USB poll rate. How old the newest sample is when the page draws it. This is not display lag and not in-game lag.

Vibration

Motion

Gyro, accelerometer, touch position, and battery are not part of the standard Gamepad reading. Chrome and Edge on desktop can request a DualSense or DualShock 4 over WebHID.

Works with

  • Xbox Series and Xbox One consoles: native.
  • Windows: USB and Bluetooth.
  • Mac and Android: Bluetooth on current OS releases.
  • PlayStation and Switch: not native.

Browser support for this controller

Chromium on Windows is the most complete path, including trigger rumble when the actuator accepts it. The Share button may show up past the standard indexes. Sample age is usually lower on USB than Bluetooth; compare them on the latency test.

Known quirks

  • “Xbox Wireless Controller” is also the Bluetooth name of some Xbox One pads. The PID is the split.
  • Steam may virtualize it as an Xbox 360 pad. That still tests buttons, but the id string is Steam’s.
  • Linux Bluetooth may need the distro’s Xbox driver before rumble works.

Drift, repair, and warranty notes

Same bands as the rest of the site: under 0.06 healthy, over 0.12 drift. Microsoft’s warranty and repair options depend on the country and the age of the pad. A Hall-effect stick swap is a third-party repair; retest afterwards. Do not trust a website button that claims to rewrite Xbox stick centers.

Frequently asked questions

What is the USB product id for Xbox Series?

045E:0B12 is the usual USB id. Bluetooth often reports 045E:0B13.

Does the Series pad have a gyroscope?

The standard Xbox Wireless Controller does not. A gyro reading on this model means another device is in the middle.
